FLV Download 1.5 is a program to download flash video files from popular sites.
The author says that this program works with YouTube, Google Video, Dailymotion, Metacafe, Spike TV (formerly iFilm), MySpace and other online video services. Hence, during the testing of the program for this review, FLV Download wasn´t able to download files from YouTube or Google Video. It worked flawlessly with Dailymotion, Metacafe, Spike TV and MySpace.
In order to download the videos from the online services, you will need to enter the URL of the video after clicking the "New Task" button. You can then decide where to store the video in your hard drive (by default, the program downloads them in My Documents\FlvDown). You can also choose to change the name of the downloaded file.
Once you finish downloading your video, the program offers you to convert it from .FLV format to any other format. The program doesn´t perform the conversion itself, that button leads to the Lumix webpage where you can download the free converters that better suit your needs. |
